Not every story was a winner, and some that I revisited, I found that I no longer liked at all, really.
This year was mostly a mix of classics, books that went on to become movies or tv (so I could watch those movies or tv), and a good amount of books that were new to me. Joining a book club also gave me more accountability I had to finish that book if I wanted to listen to the conversation, because I absolutely hate spoilers. I get to be in a group of people reading the same book, listen to excellent discussion about the book, and I never once have to speak. This year, I joined an online book club, which is really the best option. However, the effort is everything, and it has been an enjoyable one. I am also not a fast reader, despite my 30-plus years of practice. And I say, that's better than nothing, and at least I tried.
